Speer Gold Dot .45 Caliber (.451 Diameter) 200gr Bonded Jacketed Hollow Point 100/Box is designed to offer the utmost in threat-ending ballistics and features a bonded jacketed hollow point that offers reliable expansion and deep penetration at various ranges and utilizes Speer's proprietary bullet (projectile) bonding process. The lead core and copper jacket of the bullet are welded together to obtain controlled expansion and achieve higher weight retention. The purpose of bonding the two materials together is to ensure that the dense, but soft, lead core does not separate from its jacket when the bullet makes contact with its target or encounters resistance. When a bullet’s core and jacket stay together, maximum bullet weight is retained, which produces greater momentum that results in deep bullet penetration. Speer's unique bullet bonding process also produces a very uniform bullet jacket resulting in the utmost in accuracy and maximized penetration. Upon impact, the bonded jacketed hollow point bullet initiates expansion up to 1-1/2 times the size of the original bullet diameter. Even as the bullet travels through tough, destructive barriers such as glass, drywall, metal and/or fabric, the bullet maintains consistency in penetration and expansion. These bullets are built for self-defense applications. These bullets are new production and non-corrosive.
