Speer Gold Dot G2 .45 ACP +P 230gr Polymer Tip 20/Box is optimized specifically for full-sized (duty) handguns, and delivers superior defense ballistics. This ammunition delivers a minimum of 12" of penetration and maximum of 18", and utilizes a jacketed hollow point bullet (projectile) in which the nose of the bullet is filled with a high-performance elastomer (polymer). The elastomer filled bullet nose eliminates bullet clogging and aids in bullet expansion and on impact, the elastomer material is forced into engineered internal fissures which starts the bullet expansion process, resulting in bullet expansion 1.5x the original bullet diameter and also results in extremely uniform expansion, better separation of the bullet petals, and more consistent bullet penetration across barrier types through full-size handguns. Gold Dot bullets are structural-plated and feature a pressure-formed core construction which virtually eliminates bullet core/jacket separation, resulting in high weight retention. This ammunition utilizes clean burning propellants which deliver optimum velocity while ensuring consistent chamber pressures. Non corrosive CCI primers are used for highly sensitive and reliable performance, and nickel plated brass cases are used for smooth feeding and overall durability. This ammunition is built specifically for defense purposes. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.

Although this ammunition is externally identical to standard ammunition of this caliber, this ammunition should only be used in firearms rated for .45 ACP +P / .45 AUTO +P ammunition. Some firearms may not be rated for the higher pressures of the .45 ACP +P / .45 AUTO +P, including a number of older firearms, including firearms that are of questionable quality.
